Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapy.
It helps the patient to tap into their inner wisdom
and provides a pathway by which to clearly identify
and solve both emotional and physical issues. When the
conscious mind relaxes, the subconscious becomes more
active, and the patient enters what some refer to as a trance-like state.
This hypnotic state is a natural state entered into by
most people many times during a normal day. Once the
mind is relaxed, insights, answers, and new behaviors
become obvious. Addictions, conditioned responses, and
old patterns of belief and behavior can be easily
changed.
A trained
Hypnotherapist guides the patient into the
trance state and then facilitates contact with the
area of the subconscious mind where change or insight
are desired. Hypnotherapy can help patients
incorporate new behaviors and create relaxation and
peace of mind. While in a hypnotic state, the client
is aware of the surroundings yet feels so relaxed that
the distractions of the world fade away. Patients
remember what is said and done in the trance state and
are able to incorporate insights gained into their
daily life. The client always has a choice and will
incorporate only the suggestions that are most
beneficial.
